You have probably heard about how the peanut recall affected many food products including Clif bars<\/a>, but now JetBoil<\/a> is doing a voluntary recall of some of their products too.<\/p>\n

Jetboil has utilized three different gas valves (the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153A\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153B\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153C\u00e2\u20ac\u009d style valves) in the production of its\u00c2\u00a0Personal Cooking System (PCS)<\/strong> andGroup Cooking System (GCS)<\/strong>. PCS and GCS units utilizing the B style valve were shipped to US retailers between July 10 and September 9, 2008, and sold through retail since July 10, 2008.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

My boyfriend recently bought a JetBoil and it was on the recall list. Fortunately, even though I borrowed it for my past two trips to Joshua Tree (intending to do a review on it), I ended up not using it on either trip because folks just kept offering me their hot water.<\/p>\n

Sounds like generosity and chance may have saved me some grief:<\/p>\n

We have determined independently to undertake this process after receiving reports and returned units from a very limited number of end users who have experienced leaking gas and subsequent ignition of the gas leak. No injuries or property damage have been reported by these users.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
