Random Cleaning Tip

I got back from Idyllwild and brought back some tree sap with me via my pants.

I tried just hand washing in woolite first, no go of course. What did seem to work: spray on a little WD-40, leave to soak for a short time then "scrub" while rinsing. My pants are hanging to dry now and then I'll see if I missed spots. If not I'm going to run it through normal wash to get the WD-40 smell out of it.

My other thought was to try shampoo on it as a milder (and better smelling) option, maybe I'll give that a go next time.

Shoes are smelling sweet and there is no damage to the rubber/leather/laces etc. Have only washed each pair once or twice and they are fine.

You're the first I've heard to try it, and I'd be afraid to, hehe. I assume you used cold wash, gentle cycle? And there wasn't any damage? What brand of shoes was it?

Have inspected throughly - no damage and no stinky shoes. Went through on a cold wash, used a mild detergent.
